Ingredients
1/2 C. Natural Raw Honey
1/2 C. Water
1 Cinnamon Stick
Directions
Place water, honey, and cinnamon stick in a small sauce pan over medium heat.
Bring to a simmer for 2-5 minutes, then remove from heat and let steep for 10 minutes.
Once cooled, pour into an air tight container or mason jar with the cinnamon stick and store in refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.
Remove the cinnamon stick after 1-2 days. (see notes below)
Recipe Note
• This is a great syrup recipe for many dishes such as our Honey Caramel Sauce and is great in your tea or cocktails!
• You can leave the cinnamon stick in for up to a week or so to add a stronger cinnamon flavor when it’s stored in a mason jar or air tight container. You can check after a few days to see if it's at the level you prefer.
• You can also try adding a 1/4-1/2 Tsp. of ground Cinnamon into the pot for a stronger flavor too.
• To help keep longer, store in a air tight container or jar in the refrigerator.
Hello Sam, sorry for the late response! We have left the cinnamon stick in for up to a week or so to add more cinnamon flavor when it’s in a mason jar or sealed container. You can keep it in and taste it after a few days and see where it’s at. I will also add this to our notes.
Thank you
Sam

Can I just leave the cinnamon stick in the syrup or is anything past a couple days bad?

Aliza- This simple syrup should not be too thick, I usually store this in a medium mason jar for freshness. Hopefully this helps!

hi there, I’m wondering if this consistency is more like honey or simple syrup? I’m trying to buy the right container before I make a batch of this thank you.
