Starman - Bowie Inspired Cocktail
Rated 5.0 stars by 1 users last call cocktails cocktails 1 15 minutes Channel your inner Starman with a cocktail that’s bold, glittering, and unapologetically glam — just like Bowie himself. It’s got flair, a little drama, and a whole lot of star power! Lollygag 2.5 oz Hofland Jenever Gin- for a more subtly sweet taste (or sub with quality gin for a stronger vibe.) 1 Small fresh lemon- juiced .5 oz Lavender honey syrup (or regular honey syrup) Sparkling rosé or brut champagne to top off Star shaped edible glitter or edible glitter Lightening Bolt shaped lemon peel- see notes Shake gin, lemon juice, and lavender honey syrup with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a coupe glass. Top with sparkling rosé or brut champagne/prosecco Add a tiny pinch of edible star glitter and a lightening bolt lemon peel for garnish- see notes. Lightening bolt garnish: Peel a Large Strip:- using a paring knife, carefully remove/cut from a large lemon- a wide, long strip of lemon peel (about 2–3 inches long). Try to get as little of the white pith as possible, as it's bitter and harder to cut cleanly. Lay It Flat: Place the peel skin-side down on a clean cutting board. Pat it dry with a paper towel to keep it from slipping. Draw or Visualize Your Bolt: You can sketch a small lightning bolt on a piece of parchment as a stencil, or freehand it if you feel confident. Think of a zig-zag "Z" with a tail. Cut the Shape: Use your paring knife or X-Acto knife to carefully carve the peel into a bold lightning bolt shape. Go slow—sharp corners give it that iconic look. You may need to trim and refine it once the basic shape is cut. Clean the Edges: Tidy up any uneven edges or pith with your knife or tweezers for a crisp, dramatic finish. Place: Perch it on the rim or a cocktail glass for a dramatic effect. * Make it a Mocktail- Sub the Gin with 2 oz. chilled butterfly pea flower tea (for color-shifting magic.)The Starman
