Ingredients
-
3 oz. Caribbean Reserve Rum
-
.5 oz. Bombay Gin
-
.5 oz. Simple syrup
-
1/2 Fresh lemon- juiced
-
1 Tsp. Honey Caramel Sauce
-
.5 oz. Cointreau
-
One 2.5-3" long lemon peel for garnish (optional-see notes) or a simple twist of lemon.
Directions
Add all of the ingredients excluding the lemon peel for garnish, into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Give it a good shake until your cocktail is fully combined and nice & cold.
Strain into a coupe glass and top a decorative lemon peel (see notes) or a simple lemon twist.
Recipe Note
To create a decorative lemon peel garnish:
• Carefully use a paring knife to peel a 2" by 2" piece of the lemon peel.
• Flip it peel side down on a cutting board and gently scrape the white part down so that it's thin enough to cut with an exact-o blade.
• Using a pen or pencil, draw out your design- geometric, leaves, or any design that is not to intricate on the back side of the peel.
• Then using a sharp exact-o knife or paring knife ( I have found that the exact-o is easier and you will be able to cut out smaller pieces with greater ease) cut along your outline of drawing.
• Once you have finished your design, use a tiny clothes pin to attach it to your glass of choice, or you can make a small slit in the middle of your design to slide onto your glass.
• If you want to create decorative garnishes ahead of time for your party, simply make them and store them in cold water until you are ready to serve. Then dry with a paper towel before garnishing the glass.
