This delicioso drink was developed by a dear friend and a total ROCKSTAR sommelier-Elli Benchimol. She's a supreme Somme & mixologist in Washington DC. & c0-owner of Apéro DC- needless to say, she knows her stuff! This cocktail is the perfect way to say "Hello Winter!"

Ingredients
1.5 oz. Maguey Vida Mezcal
1 oz. Fresh lime juice
.5 oz. Aperol
1 oz. Cinnamon spice simple syrup (See note below)
Cinnamon Spice Simple Syrup
1 Cup Water
1 Cup Cane sugar
2 Whole cinnamon sticks
Garnish
1 Whole Star Anise
Orange zest
Cinnamon zest
Directions
Combine all ingredients for the cocktail in a shaker and vigorously shake with ice.
Poor over rocks glass tumbler with large ice cubes and garnish with orange zest & whole star anise.
Top with grated cinnamon.
Cinnamon Spice Simple Syrup
Place all ingredients in small saucepan on medium heat.
Bring to boil.
Reduce heat to low heat and simmer for 3 minutes, stirring to dissolve sugar.
Remove from heat. Cool slightly.
Refrigerate over night so that flavors can absorb, and strain before pouring into a mason jar or serving.
Recipe Note
Cinnamon Simple Syrup can be stored in refrigerator for 2-3 weeks in an air tight container.
