The Woodsman Cherry Bourbon Cocktail

Rated 5.0 stars by 1 users Last Call Bourbon Cocktails 1 10 minutes 5 minutes This smoky-sweet sipper is fall in a glass — bold bourbon meets a swirl of cinnamon spice and a whisper of cherry bitters & orange for that perfect fireside vibe. Cozy, moody, and a little mysterious, it’s the kind of cocktail that makes any night feel like a celebration (flannel optional). Lollygag 2.5 oz. (3 if you want it stronger) quality Bourbon or rye whiskey .5 oz cinnamon simple syrup 2 dashes cherry bitters 1 dash orange bitters (optional, for brightness) 1 Dehydrated Orange (we used Barsmith), brandied cherry or cinnamon stick 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup white or raw granulated sugar 1 Cinnamon stick 1/2 teaspoon ground Cinnamon Fill a mixing glass with ice and add the bourbon (or rye), cinnamon syrup, cherry bitters, and optional orange bitters. Stir until deliciously chilled. Strain into a rocks glass over a big ice cube. Top with a dehydrated orange or garnish with the peel plus a brandied cherry or a cinnamon stick for extra autumn drama. In a small saucepan, bring 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup white granulated sugar to a simmer and stir until completely dissolved. Stir in the ground cinnamon and add the cinnamon stick, then let simmer for about 4-5 minutes stirring once or twice. Remove the pan from the heat and let steep covered, to allow the syrup to cool and steep for at least 1 hour. For added flavor, let it stand for up to 6 hours or overnight. The Woodsman
