Total Time

Serving

30-45 Min

4 Cups

Ingredients:

  • 2-3  slices of bacon- chopped
  • 16 OZ. or 1 pound of ground turkey (for red meat lovers you can sub with ground beef or half turkey/ half pork)
  • 2-3 Tbsp. of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • ½ Cup shredded carrots
  • ¼ Cup of celery-chopped
  • ½ Cup of yellow onions
  • 4 Large garlic cloves
  • Cup chicken broth (bone broth if you want it a bit richer) Plus 2 Tbsp.
  • 3 Tbsp. of Tomato paste
  • 1-28oz. Can of San Marzano Tomatoes
  • 1 Tsp Kosher salt
  • 3-4 grinds of fresh ground pepper
  • ½-1 Tsp. of Italian seasoning
  • ¼ cup of fresh Parsley
  • 2 Tsp. of Worcestershire Sauce

Recipe Preparation:

      1. Using a food processor- combine carrots, onion, garlic, and celery- pulse until coarsely chopped.
      2. Add about 2 Tbsp. of chicken broth and pulse until it's a finely chopped consistency (remember we are hiding the veggies;) Set aside.
      3. In a large deep skillet heat, olive oil over medium heat and add chopped bacon, cook until browned.
      4. Add the bacon and brown.
      5. Then add your ground meat and Worcestershire Sauce and stir often to completely break up your meat and it's evenly browned. This should be about 10 minutes.
      6. Add your veggie mixture and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
      7. Stir in the remaining chicken stock, tomato paste, tomatoes, then add your Italian seasoning, parsley, and salt & pepper. Mix well.
      8. Cover and reduce heat to medium-low.
      9. Let simmer for about 30 minutes- stirring occasionally and adding a bit more chicken broth if needed to keep your sauce from getting too thick.
      10. Remove from heat and serve with your favorite pasta or save and use later for our Million $ Lasagna recipe.
