Ingredients
-
12 oz. Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips (premium like Ghirardelli-see notes)
-
1/3 Cup Whole Milk
-
1/3 Cup Heavy cream
-
1 Tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract ( we used Trader Joe’s Bourbon Vanilla Extract)
-
Homemade cherry pomme marshmallows (or store bought but you won’t be disappointed if you go with these!)
-
Other items for dipping (such as pound cake, strawberries, bananas, raspberries, or cookies)
Directions
Combine the chocolate chips, milk, cream in a medium saucepan over low to medium heat.
Stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Do not let it come to a boil.
Once the chocolate has melted and the sauce is smooth, add the vanilla extract and more cream, one tbsp at a time if it feels too thick.
When it looks like the consistency you like, pour it into your fondue pan and place over the flame to keep melted and warm.
Serve with a plethora of dunking options and enjoy!
Recipe Note
• If you have a fondue pan you can use directly on the stovetop, then you can work directly in it and place on your fondue flame to keep it warm.
• We recommend using premium chocolate chips or cooking bars for best results and if you prefer a richer chocolate, you can use bittersweet.
(Brands like Hershey’s may be harder to melt into a smooth sauce)
• You can add orange liqueur or other flavored liqueurs for a pop of extra flavor or try adding a pinch of cinnamon, ancho chili powder, and chipotle chili powder for a spicy kick to your chocolate sauce, but we suggest using this with premium bittersweet chocolate for best results.
